The last book I have read, Blue Umbrella

The Last book I have read is Blue umbrella written by our Mountain Man, Ruskin Bond. It is a novella, about a Village girl Binya Who loves herding her cows in the foothills of the Himalayan.

The story Starts when Binya exchanged her leopard's claw pendant with a Blue umbrella from urban people who came for a picnic in Garhwal. That blue umbrella was so beautiful and elegant; soon it became a hot topic for the villagers to gossip about. Within a short period, Binya became very famous because of her umbrella.

When Ram Bharosa an owner of a Grocery shop got to know about this beautiful umbrella he wanted to buy it. But Binya Refused him. It was an unexpected refusal from a kid. Ram Bharosa became determined to own that blue umbrella from Binya at any cost. So he hired a boy from the neighborhood village to steal that blue umbrella from Binya.

But Biju, Binya’s brother caught him red-handed when that boy tried to escape after stealing that umbrella from Binya. He revealed that Ram Bharosa was the mastermind behind the scene, Villagers stopped to visit Ram Bharosa's shop. They stopped purchasing anything from Ram’s Shop. As a result, Ram started to struggle for a livelihood.

Binya noticed that nobody visits Ram Bharosa’s shop after that incident. This made her sad. As Binya was a kind-hearted girl she gave her umbrella to Ram Bharosa and Ram Gave Binya Bear’s claw pendant. later on, everyone started to visit Ram's Grocery shop again.

The novella tells a simple yet elegant story that shows how one can win everyone's heart by remaining a kind soul. Through Binya author wants to showcase the simplicity and kindness of a child
