Even I have a plan to visit Amsterdam too but this might take a few more days to fly out of the garden of Tulips! Till then we can go around these flower valleys in India. Valley of Flowers in Joshimath: situated at 3600 meters above sea level, this kaleidoscopic land is a wide area of rare Himalayan flora and fauna. Joshimath is located in Chalomi district and spreads across an area of around 87 kilometers. The picturesque place holds a title of a UNESCO heritage site. If you want to see this beautiful valley, from July to August would be an ideal season to be there.

Yumthang Valley: “Orai amar thotomoto ei sohore rhododendron”. A song that is sung by Goutam Chattyapadhay, describes the beauty of rhododendron. People who are from Bengal 99% of them love to hear the song while thinking about Yumthang Valley. This valley offers all the travelers its mesmerizing beauty that is unparalleled. Last month this flower valley got its maximum bloom because of its chilled weather. Along with rhododendron, you will get to see the Teesta river. Although Yumthang Valley is famous for its rhododendron it has a plethora of collections of other Himalayan flowers. The best season to visit this gem is from February to June.

Amsterdam of India, Munsiyari: A hamlet named Munsiyari in Uttarakhand has the world’s biggest tulip garden. This area spreads across an area around 50 hectares of land in the Himalayan region. Back in 2001 Indian government take initiative to plant tulips. So 70k tulips were brought to India and had been planted from Holland. Although this Valley is famous for its vast Tulip garden it is also home to Daffodil iris and more.

Tulip in heaven, Srinagar Tulip garden: Kashmir is often addressed as the heaven of the planet earth. And now we are talking about a valley that perched on the region of Kashmir. The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip garden spreads across an area of 30 hectares. From here one can get a view of pristine Daal Lake. The garden has other flowers too, such as ranunculus, daffodils hyacinth, and other flowers too.

Kolkata’s flower valley; Khirai: I have heard about this place a few years back but haven’t got the chance to see this vivid valley of flowers. Even a lot of people have not any idea about it. But since lockdown happened, many gems are unlocking themselves, like this place. Khirai is a small village in the West Medinipur district of West Bengal. Visitors say this place is best known for marigolds, nightingale, and other local flowers. And the best time to go to this place is from December to January. If you’re from nearby places go there and enjoy.

Kaas Plateau, Satara: this valley is perched on the western ghats and is also known as Kaas Pathar. A few years back this place has got a UNESCO heritage site title. More than 1500 species of flowers can be found in this valley. From August to October, this place turns into a pink sea.
